Your business' next chapter

Legacy Protected by Experienced Entrepreneurs

Transitions are difficult

Culture Risk

  • Corporate buyers see your business as a number on a spreadsheet.
  • They’ll strip away the culture and community you’ve built.

Stress of Letting Go

  • Letting go is stressful.
  • You feel anxious about the unknown.
  • Worrying if your team and customers will be taken care of.

Legacy at Stake

  • A successful sale shouldn’t mean sacrificing your legacy.
  • Your life’s work deserves to be honored - not just sold off.

Our Process

Selling your business is a big moment. We emphasize building trust and navigating the process together.

We move quickly, keep everything confidential, and focus on getting you the outcome you deserve.

1

Intro Call (30 minutes)

A casual conversation to get acquainted. We'll talk about your business and goals, and see if there's a mutual fit.

2

Meet in Person (within 1 week)

You share your story, and we’ll listen—about the team, customers, wins, and challenges. We want to understand your world.

3

Letter of Intent (1–2 weeks)

We agree on price and terms — transparent, honest, and fair.

4

Diligence & Transition Planning (60–90 days)

We'll dive into your operations and plan the transition. It’s about preserving what works and strengthening what doesn’t.

5

Close Deal

Once everything’s aligned — terms, team, and transition — we close the deal. You walk away knowing your legacy is in good hands.

Meet the entrepreneurs

We’re Nathan and Joanne Donohue — a husband-and-wife team based in Scottsdale, Arizona. We've started, scaled, and exited businesses together. Now we’re focused on buying and operating one local business with an incredible team.

We’re not a private equity firm. We’re operators who’ve sat in your seat — hired the team, barely met payroll, laid awake at night, and handled the hard days.

We too know what it takes to build a business.

Through our firm, Sonoran Ridge Capital, we’re looking to acquire a service-based business in the Phoenix Valley. Our goal is simple: honor the legacy you've built and keep it thriving for the next generation — your people, your customers, your culture.

What we bring to the table

Nathan Donohue

Nathan spent the past 16+ years building and leading businesses - most recently as co-founder of a wealth management firm that grew to over $500M in assets and a 10+ person team. He knows what it’s like to carry a business through both growth and grit.

In his last company, Nathan focused on building people up. Every team member had the chance to grow professionally, with education fully supported by the firm. He believed that strong businesses are built by strong teams, and his job was to help them thrive.

Now, through Sonoran Ridge Capital, he is focused on acquiring and operating one great service-based business in the Phoenix area. His philosophy is simple: protect what’s working, invest deeply in people, and keep building.

Joanne Donohue

Joanne comes from the world of technology, where she built tools that don’t just look good on a roadmap - they work where it counts: in the field. At MARS, one of the world’s largest privately held companies, she led product teams that developed internal tech solutions used by operations teams to drive double-digit e-commerce growth across the country.

With a background as a Senior Product Manager, Analytics lead, and certified AI strategist (ASU), she’s helped Fortune 100 companies make smarter, faster decisions through practical, data-driven systems.

Now at Sonoran Ridge Capital, she applies that same hands-on mindset to small business - using technology to streamline operations, support teams, and improve outcomes without disrupting what already works.
